PinpointTravel ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, optionally, your first name. We do not receive or store your email address unless you choose to share it through Apple's relay service.
Trip Data
When you create trips, we store the trip name, dates, destination cities and countries (including coordinates), notes, and your personal favorites (coffee spot, bar, activity, hidden gem). This data is synced to our server so you can access it across sessions.
Photo Library Access
With your permission, PinpointTravel reads metadata (date and GPS coordinates) from your photo library to detect trips you may have taken. This processing happens entirely on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your photos on our servers. Photo images you attach to trips are cached locally on your device only.
Home Country
You may set a home country during onboarding. This is stored locally on your device and used to distinguish travel photos from photos taken near home. It is not sent to our servers.
Your trip data is stored on a secure server hosted on Railway. Communication between the app and our server is encrypted via HTTPS. Account authentication is handled entirely through Sign in with Apple.
On-device data (photo metadata, notification preferences, home country) is stored in your device's local storage and is not accessible to us.
Sign in with Apple
We use Apple's authentication service for account creation and sign-in. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of your credentials.
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your anonymous app user identifier and purchase transaction data to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or personal data. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy for more details.
Apple MapKit
We use Apple's MapKit for map display and location search. Location search queries are processed by Apple's services according to Apple's privacy policy.
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Your trip data is retained on our server for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below. Upon request, we will permanently delete your account, trips, and all related data from our servers.
Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data from your device, including cached photos and preferences.
PinpointTravel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
